Stop Over in Hong Kong

Not a great start to the trip. We were three hours late leaving Melbourne due to a mechanical fault with the plane. Something about a seal on one of the flaps on the wing being faulty but the engineer looked at it and said it was not a problem and we could fly with the plane "as is". Trouble was the captain had to get approval from Boeing / Qantas to fly and the paperwork took ages to get completed. I guess there aren't many office staff available at 11pm at night. Funny things go through your mind when you hear of any problem with the plane, especially after the exploding oxygen bottle on the Qantas plane last week but we got here ok with no problems.

The captain made up 45 minutes on the way up so we look like leaving Hong Kong two hours behind schedule which isn't too bad. I alo got upgraded to "premium economy" which I think meant I got a linen place mat, a linen napkin and a slightly bigger seat with a little extra leg room. Anyway, time to fly (sorry) and I'm out of here.
